Gretchen is a break through for female fronted heavy music. They have been
described as a cross between Evanescence, Benjamin Gate and a heavier edged No
Doubt. They excel with a style all their own balancing heavy tones (can you say
"7 string guitar"?) with mature song writing & catchy hooks. There are no
limits for the band as their sound falls right on the line between commercial
& underground--- Gretchen's music is neither obscure or predictably
gimmicky. They find themselves at home with heavy weights like P.O.D. & Disciple while retaining
the ability to gel with more contemporary styled groups. Without a doubt, the
band has refined a sound that crosses barriers of style, tempo, age, and faith.
